Heartword is designed to help people memorize Scripture. This policy describes the behavior of the current beta version.
Information stored on your device
Heartword stores your selected Bible translation, custom verses, practice history, mastery estimates, review dates, streak, experience points, daily reminder preference, and onboarding status locally on your device. The current beta does not require an account and does not send this learning data to Heartword-operated servers.
Speech recognition
Spoken recitation is optional. When you tap the microphone button, Heartword uses Apple speech-recognition services to convert your recitation into text. Microphone and speech-recognition access are requested only when you use this feature. Apple’s handling of speech data is governed by Apple’s policies and your device settings.
Notifications
If you enable practice reminders, Heartword schedules a local notification on your device. You can disable reminders in Heartword or in iOS Settings.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The current beta contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or cross-app tracking technology.
Children and young people
The current beta is intended for supervised product testing and does not provide public profiles, messaging, or social discovery. Those features will not be introduced without appropriate privacy and safety protections.
Bible translations
Heartword identifies the translation used for each verse. Users are responsible for entering custom verse text accurately. Copyrighted translations will only be distributed when appropriate permission has been obtained.
Changes
This policy will be updated before public release if Heartword adds accounts, cloud synchronization, analytics, subscriptions, social functionality, or additional third-party services.
